Babai-Mohasa Industrial Park Set to Become India’s Largest Solar Energy Hub

The Babai-Mohasa Industrial Park in Madhya Pradesh is on the path to becoming the nation’s leading solar energy manufacturing hub. During the Global Investors Summit 2024, the state government secured investment proposals totaling Rs 50,000 crore. The primary objective is to expedite the realization of these investments by acquiring an additional 1,000 acres of land. This ambitious project is projected to create around 50,000 job opportunities.

Transformation into a Renewable Energy Manufacturing Center

Babai-Mohasa is poised to become a major center for solar energy production, with a focus on manufacturing solar panels, batteries, machinery, cables, and other solar-related products. Additionally, this industrial park is expected to attract investments in wind energy and power generation. Companies have also expressed interest in the Tamot Plastic Park, further enhancing the region’s potential to emerge as a vibrant industrial hub.

Expanding Solar and Industrial Infrastructure

The development of Babai-Mohasa will extend beyond solar energy, encompassing various industrial sectors. The region is likely to witness a surge in production facilities, making it a comprehensive manufacturing zone. The Tamot Plastic Park is also gaining traction, with multiple firms showing a desire to set up operations, which could lead to a significant boost in industrial activity.

Availability of Land in Industrial Parks Around Bhopal

There are 13 industrial parks in the vicinity of Bhopal, though only four currently have available land for development. The land availability details are as follows:

In other regions, 11 out of 36 industrial parks in Indore have vacant land, while Gwalior has land available in 2 out of 7 parks. Similarly, Ujjain has land in 5 out of 12 industrial parks.

Massive Investments Driving Industrial Growth

To support the ongoing industrial expansion, the government plans to establish a 20,000-acre industrial land bank in the districts of Narmadapuram, Sehore, Raisen, and Vidisha. Bhopal is being developed as a hub for renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, engineering, electronics, and food processing industries. Furthermore, the city will benefit from enhanced connectivity through the Bhopal-Kanpur and Bhopal-Singrauli industrial corridors, fostering greater economic development.
